New Vocabulary:
Embryo- As the ball of cells advances and differentiates, it is called the embryo.
Fetus- After 8 week, the more developed organism is called the fetus. It will be called the fetus until it leaves the mother’s body.
Placenta- The embryo/fetus develops inside a sac attached to the uterus called the placenta. The placenta provides the growing embryo/fetus with oxygen and organic nutrients, and removes waste. The placenta prevents the fetal blood from mixing with the mother’s blood.
Milk- After the child is born, the mother gives her child organic nutrients, minerals, and vitamins through milk.
