Embryo- The new organism in its early stages of development from weeks 0-8
Embryonic Development- During weeks 0-8, all of the essential organs are built. This is a very important stage and must be done correctly for the embryo to advance into a proper fetus.
Exposure- To come in contact with something
Mutation– A change
Risk Factor- Something that increases the chance of something bad happening
EXAMPLE- Smoking, radiation, and drinking alcohol during pregnancy are all risk factors that might increase the chances of birth defects.
