Today we explored some examples of odd electron configurations in atoms.
Aim: How are electron orbitals filled?
We examined the differences between the Regents method of filling electron shells and the way we’ve been doing it in class. There is one difference: the Regents configurations have electrons jump up from s-sublevels if it would put 5 or 10 electrons into the d-sublevel. This only occurs in columns 6 and 11.
