For the last three days, we have been studying polyatomic ions, and ways to draw Lewis stuctures for them. Our steps:
- Separate your metal and nonmetals
- Assign charges to each
- Draw the Lewis structure of your nonmetal using the tricks we already know
- Draw the polyatomic ion and metal together like we learned for salts
For bonus credit, figure out why we say “polyatomic” instead of “multiatomic.”
