Today we learned about bright line spectra. Atoms can absorb certain amounts of energy in their electrons, which later fall back to the ground state and release energy. We see this energy as bright lines of color.
Some people have pointed out that bright line spectra look similar to DNA electrophoresis gels. While the two are TOTALLY different in reality, the same rules apply for comparing and combining them. Special thanks to Ulises for pointing it out, and Ayana for bringing it home!
