This summer, from July 8th to August 15th, Youth Communication will hold its 34th Annual Summer Writing Workshop in Manhattan, New York. Anyone ages 15 to 20 who lives within commuting distance is eligible to apply. Participants will get one-on-one mentoring from a professional editor. Participants will also spend time “on the street” as a reporter, go on field trips, and participate in the production of videos for our websites. Participants will be awarded a complete scholarship to cover the entire $3,000 cost for each person. For more information, visit www.ycteen.org
NYC Parks
The NYC Parks Fellowship and Conservation Corps will provide participants with a substantive work experience as well as ample opportunities for on-the job training and mentoring, including learning about divisions at Parks, ongoing career development seminars, and regular service opportunities. Corps Members will be paid an hourly wage of $18.00. The program begins September 9, 2013 and applications are due Wednesday, May 1, 2013, by midnight Eastern Standard Time.
