WHSAD has the ability to process your working papers applications remotely. Please follow the steps below to apply for Working Papers if you are FULLY REMOTE. (Students who are enrolled in Blended Learning should apply for working papers in person with Ms. Wilson in Room 139 during periods 1 or 7 every day.)
Step 1: Complete ONLY Part 1 and e-sign the application form located here: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/sss/documents/AT17-0320Fillable.pdf
Email the completed application form as a PDF to Ms. Wilson at wilson@whsad.org. If you cannot send the PDF, take a photo of the entire page and send it to Ms. Wilson.
Step 2: Make sure to have your school ID, birth certificate or passport (or other federal/state ID), and your Certificate of Physical Fitness (doctor’s note) ready to show Ms. Wilson during the Google Meet.
If you need a form for your doctor to complete, you can find the state’s template at: http://www.p12.nysed.gov/sss/documents/AT-16fillable.pd
Please note: The Certificate of Physical Fitness is not the same as a physical — it must contain language along the lines of “fit to work”, “healthy for employment”, “can do age-appropriate work”, or something like that. Most doctor’s offices have a standard form for working papers, but if not, the state form linked above is acceptable.
Step 3: Sign up for a virtual verification meeting with Ms. Wilson at https://calendly.com/whsadwilsonworkingpapers/15min
NOTE: You must sign up with your @whsadstudents.org email address
Step 4: Check your mail! Ms. Wilson will be mailing your working papers card to you at an address you specify. You will need to sign the card as soon as you receive it in order for it to be valid.
