Aim:  How do we simplify expressions with the graphing calculator?

Today we started a TI-83 scavenger hunt.  Bring the sheet back to class tomorrow.

Homework:

Answer the following questions completely.  Use complete sentences and convince me!!!

1)  Identify the exponent and the base in 43.  Draw the keys that you would use to  type the expression into the calculator.

2)  A student simplified an expression as shown below.  Find the error and simplify the expression correctly.

23 – 8 · 2 + 32 = 23 – 8 · 2 + 9

= 15 · 2 + 9

= 30 + 9

= 39      ✗
