Earth Science Unit 1 Lessons 1-4

WEEK 1:

Aims:

 

  1. What was the Big Bang?  Essential Question:  From where was the matter of the Universe derived?
  2. How did the planets of our Solar System coalesce?    Essential Question: What part did Gravity play in the formation of the planets?
  3. How did the Moon form?   Essential Question: How did the presence of the Moon affect earth’s stability?
  4. How did liquid  water form on Earth?   Essential Question:When did liquid water form and where did it come from?

Homework assigned on day 1 was: Research and describe at least 2 theories of how liquid water developed on Earth.
