We spent three days learning about kinetics, or how quickly a chemical reaction happens. There are 5 factors about which we spoke:
- Temperature: increase to increase rate, works by adding energy
- Pressure (gas only): increase to increase rate, works by increasing collisions
- Concentration (liquid only): increase to increase rate, works by increasing collisions
- Surface Area (solid only): increase to increase rate, works by increasing collisions
- Catalyst: add to increase rate by lowering surface area
