Pauli Exclusion Principle and Hund’s Rule

Today we learned about the Pauli Exclusion Principle.  We have to have some way of telling electrons apart, whether by their location or their spin.

Aim: Why does each orbital only hold two electrons?

For those of you who were curious, the Aim from today should have read “Why does each orbital hold ONLY two electrons.”  Congrats to Ronnie and Sherman for puzzling it out!

Remember, we have a quiz tomorrow on electron configurations.
