2. Braggart One who boasts a lot Even if you are a champion baseball player, avoid sounding like a braggart on your college application essay  
3. Complacent Self satisfied; smug Danny could easily get an A in English, but he is too complacent to work for it.  
4. Contemptuous Lacking respect; scornful Accustomed to filet mignon, Fido glared contemptuously at the bowl of puppy chow in front of him.  
5. Disdainful Aloof; Full of bitter scorn and pride. I cannot keep my disdainful comments to myself when Franklin deliberately acts foolish to get attention.  
6. Egotistical Very conceited; Excessively self absorbed. Nathan is so egotistical; he thinks every girl on campus wants to go out with him.  
7. Haughty Having great pride in oneself and dislike for others. Haughty Hannah has no use for others; she’s too busy thinking and talking about herself.  
8. Insolent Boldly disrespectful in speech or behavior; Rude. Before Megan met that wild crowd, she was quiet and respectful; now she is an insolent, foul-mouth girl.  
9. Narcissistic Extreme self adoration, and a feeling of superiority to everyone else. Becky is so narcissistic, she even chooses her friends based on how their looks complement hers.
