Assemblyman Joe Lentol and Senior Cameron Edge

The following post was written by Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design Senior Cameron Edge, who served as an intern in the office of Assemblyman Joseph Lentol over the summer of 2014:

This summer I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to intern in the office of Assemblyman Joseph Lentol. Assemblyman Lentol represents the 50th District in North Brooklyn, which includes parts of Greenpoint, Williamsburg, and Clinton Hill. One of the first projects I worked on was compiling a brochure for military veterans who live in the district. This brochure outlined the services that they qualify for.  I also worked on following up with 3-1-1 and government agencies on basic services that should be provided to residents of the district including the illegal use of fire hydrants, parking issues due to filming, and the need for trees to be pruned. One of the most interesting pieces of legislation Assemblyman Lentol and his office worked on was legislation that would keep nonviolent 16- and 17-year-olds out of adult court. Elected officials serve as a voice for their constituents they carry out the desires of those who put them in office. Assemblyman Lentol is a hard worker for his constituents and he has spent his whole career fighting for what his district needs.
