WHSAD Students Beautify the Community

Through a partnership with Elaine Brodsky, The Greenpoint CCI and the Williamsburg HS for Architecture and Design, Groundswell Artists will facilitate the collaborative research, design and creation of a large scale work of public art to be installed in Greenpoint Brooklyn (location TBD) based on the theme “The History and Future of Greenpoint” with emphasis on the immigrant experience.

Groundswell Artists will work with an apprentice team (TEMA Wednesdays) made up of Groundswell youth and youth from the Greenpoint CCI and the Williamsburg HS of Architecture and Design to create a mural on parachute cloth. The program will run from Oct. 23, 2013 – May 7, 2014; Wednesdays, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

6 WHSAD students were selected to participate in this community service project.
