WHSAD students are not expected to wait until they graduate college to begin their first job. Experience in the workplace is as crucial to a student’s education as the classroom. The goal at WHSAD is that our students enter college and begin adulthood with the advantage of learning how to lead independent, self-sustaining lives. Our work based learning program is an important component in helping us to meet this goal.
WHSAD offers students a unique and engaging four-year course sequence with a focus in architectural drafting, design principles, and historic preservation. Our inter-disciplinary and hands-on approach to architecture, design, and the visual arts threads skills training and internship experiences throughout core academic content areas. WHSAD students can earn a Career & Technical Education (CTE) endorsed diploma in Architectural Drafting & Design, and up to 6 college credits upon graduation from our program.
All of our students are given the opportunity to participate in paid internships with industry partners. For more information/resources about internship opportunities for students, click here.
If you have any questions, or are interested in hosting an intern, please contact our internship coordinator, Emily Wilson, at 718-388-1260, extension 1390 and at wilson@whsad.org.
