Class of 2022 Family Workshops

WHSAD will be hosting a series of monthly workshops for our Juniors and their families to help navigate the post-secondary process. We will discuss the pathway to graduation, finding the right college and career programs, college affordability and financial aid, and the application process. National Decision Day

Attention Seniors,  May 1st is National Decision Day which means the pressure is on for high school seniors to make final college decisions. WHSAD will be hosting a celebratory party during 3rd & 4th period for students who have committed to the college of their choice.  In order to receive a ticket, you must provide Ms. Terraferma with a copy of your college acceptance letter. Start Earning College Credits This Fall

Will you be a Junior or Senior at WHSAD this fall? Do you want to start earning college credits? Do you have an 80+ Average and a score of 75+ on the ELA regents*? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you can start taking College Now classes this fall at City Tech (in Downtown Brooklyn). Excelsior Scholarship is Now Opened

Excelsior Scholarship application for the 2018-19 is now available. Students will need there TAP user name, password and Pin Number. Click here if you still have not applied for TAP. (NY State Tuition Assistance Program) The Excelsior Scholarship, in combination with other student financial aid programs, allows students to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition-free. Paid Summer Internship at the Navy Yard

The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation’s Summer Internship Program connects graduating college-attending or college-bound undergraduate students to a wide range of work opportunities with businesses within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Over the course of an 8-week session, students will be connected to Yard-based businesses and departments according to their future career interests, skillsets and educational background. December Tasks for College Bound Students

Hi Seniors!   Here are a few things you should be doing in the next 3 Weeks: Finish your college applicationsand essays and get them to the colleges.   It's not too late to apply.  See Ms. Terraferma Submit all other required documents to the colleges, such as your SAT and ACT scores. Submit your FAFSA. Our FAFSA day is December 9th.  Contact Ms. Terraferma for an appointment. Check your email daily because this is how many colleges will communicate with you.
