In this series, our graduating seniors provide some insights as to where they have been and where they are going.
My post-WHSAD plans are to attend college to pursue my dreams of becoming an architect. I believe attending college would help me better my knowledge in the field of architecture by being able to take advantage of all the resources the college has to offer. Through this it would further help me grow as a person by receiving opportunities in the real world such as job positions after college.
I’ve been so blessed to have received the UFT Albert Shanker Scholarship Fund Award. My hard work and dedication were recognized through my academic excellence by the UFT Selection Committee and as a result, I’ve earned this award. I’m eternally grateful to have received this award as it would be put to good use by covering part of my tuition.
It’s safe to say that I, along with my other peers, have grown from these four years of attending WHSAD. Each year I learned a new set of skills that allowed me to become the person I am today. Every day served as a learning experience to grow better than before and, because of that, I’d like to thank all my educators throughout the years for helping me grow academically and socially so that I am now able to spread my wings and leave the nest to transition into the next step in my life.
My piece of advice that I leave with the students in high school is to always strive to become the best version of yourself. Don’t hesitate to go the extra mile because, at the end of the day, it’s for your benefit.
