1. What have you learned so far in your work in the Makerspace?
I’ve learned that to be a good worker you must not only go in depth on the topic that is presented to you as a task but you must also go above and beyond the goals or desires of your superiors. In order to achieve success, you need to do more than the standard.
2. Based on what you have done so far, what do you think is your greatest strength and why?
My greatest strength is probably organization and presenting the information that I’ve discovered in an understandable way. Mostly because you could have perfectly helpful and reliable info, but if someone doesn’t understand it, then it’s pointless.
3. What skill would you like to develop over the remainder of the program?
My presentation skills. I’ve been struggling and I’d like to get over the issues I have with presenting soon so that if it comes to it in the future I’ll be able to present without a problem. I know that knowing the information that I present helps significantly, but I think I lack the confidence sometimes to achieve a smooth presentation.
4. How has it been collaborating with your peers on-line?
It’s been interesting and helpful. Having the ability to talk to my peers in a project as well as collaborate through emails and Google projects makes things significantly easier. However, I do wish I could have the face to face interaction with others on the project in order to understand their reactions and thoughts on certain topics and ideas.
5. How has the feedback you have received from mentors affected your thoughts about your projects?
The feedback has made me choose to work harder on the projects that I am supposed to create. Instead of just having a standard way of answering and thinking, I now would rather go in depth and learn the most about a topic so I can add the most in the best way possible. Whether that means verbally describing something, or showing writing, or visuals.
6. What are you looking forward to for the rest of the program?
Getting the chance to earn money and test my ability to work and do well as an employee. I hope to continue my work but to also add on to my skills and knowledge as a whole. I hope to test the skills that I already have and to understand or reflect on my work, so that I can be the best employee I can be currently and for my future.
7. Is there anything you would like to add?
I’d just like to add that I welcome any suggestions or anything that I can improve upon. I would also like to say that if there is anything extra I could help with, please don’t hesitate to ask.
