In a few sentences how would you describe your summer bridge experience?

In general I would describe my summer bridge experience as very much enjoyable. While learning you are still able to have fun with the projects that were assigned. Some of the projects made with the unique software AutoCAD were a puzzle piece, light box, and even my own container.

In what ways do you think this program will help you in high school and in the future?

This program will help me in high school because it was like a tutorial before actually attending the class. This will be beneficial in the future because I wouldn’t have to wait another month until school and I can potentially be ahead of my class. Another thing this program does is give me a sense of what my architectural future may consist of.

What did you like about the program and what did you not?

I liked that we got taught by experienced students/mentors so there would be multiple people walking around the classroom helping you instead of one teacher to help all the students. This was a different experience compared to other programs.

What did you learn?

I learned how to make a puzzle piece, light box, and a container. While making these projects I was also able to learn a large amount of commands that can help in the future. I’ve also learned AutoCAD isn’t something you can learn overnight, it takes time to be mastered.

Was there a specific project you enjoyed?

I really enjoyed making the light box project because I was able to choose what I wanted to make to be creative with it and it didn’t feel as if it was a project I was assigned to do.

About Mahalia Saint Eloi

Hi, my name is Mahalia Saint Eloi. I am currently a High School Junior at WHSAD. One of the things I love to do is make others happy. I take pride in making someone feel special or making their day. I aspire to become a pediatrician so that i can improve the lives of young children. Two of my favorite hobbies are drawing and writing. I write stories or blogs on Medium and Wattpad then publish them to see what people think. That's why I joined the newspaper club, so I can write more stories for people to love.
