What are your strengths and what areas of yourself would you like to improve?
When it comes to my strengths I’m not sure what they are, especially since I feel like I can improve in everything. However, I’d say photography and math are my strong points along with art. Even though I say these are my strengths, I really need to improve more of all of them because although I believe I’m good at them I still make mistakes and get confused when doing certain things. My strengths may be things that I’m good at, but I know I can do much better and I want to improve them.
What are you looking forward to in your senior year at WHSAD?
I’m looking forward to being able to spend my last year here trying to learn new skills and improve my skills with the little time left. I want to enjoy the year while it lasts but also do as much as I can to not forget what I learned from this school.
What are your plans for after high school?
My plan after high school is to attend a 4-year college for architecture or film. Also, I want to get a job to help pay for tuition and use the money to buy equipment such as a laptop that can help during college and a camera to be able to continue my hobby of photography. Other than that my plan after high school is to just finish college, get a job, and spend the money wisely.
What activities have you been involved in during your time at WHSAD and how have these activities helped you grow?
I wasn’t involved in many activities at WHSAD till junior year when I joined the newspaper club and took photos for the school. Joining the newspaper club helped out a lot because It taught me how to time myself and work fast but also improve my photography skills in a constantly changing environment. Senior year I’m still doing photography, but I am also leading the silk screening club. I attend WLG, and I stay after school in the maker space program working on AutoCAD projects or personal work. All these activities have really helped me to be on top of my things and keep track of any work that I need to do.
What advice would you give to students in the lower grades?
Some advice I’d give is to be organized when it comes to doing work. You want to be able to know where certain notes or homework are because you’ll need them to review. Don’t slack off. Never put off something for later when it can be done immediately because when you do this, work starts to pile up, and you get stressed which is not good. Try to take breaks, don’t take a ton of breaks but once in a while it’s good to take a break and relax to clear your head. My last advice would be just enjoy what you got and don’t let things get you down.
