The WHSAD Tales:

The seniors were asked to compose a 200-line, narrative poem that teaches a moral and satirizes a character that they had previously created. The winners of the writing competition, which we based on our readings of Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales, will be attending a college classroom at St. Joseph’s College right here in Brooklyn. For the first time they will be experiencing the nature of a literary classroom at the collegiate level to enrich their own education.

A very large congratulations are in order for all who completed their poems and the following winners:

Samarah Grant

Shaleen Calder

Joshua Nieves

Jodiel Negron

Ofelia Eumana

Tracy Wan

Adams Peguero

Shane Fearon

Alexander Pollard

I am so very proud of what you have accomplished with your writing. You are a testament to perseverance and hard work.

“Ful wys is he that kan himselve knowe.”  -Geoffrey Chaucer
