Spring is here, the days are longer and the end of the school year is drawing closer. There are less than two months left for you to ensure a successful end of year. Being successful means that you achieved high grades in your classes and on your scheduled Regent’s exams. This is the time of year when you must sacrifice some of your free time to study.
In order to help you in this end, review classes have been set up in all subject areas. The teachers at WHSAD have scheduled time beyond their normal work day to provide you with any help you may need. Please see my special alert for an updated tutoring schedule. While we at WHSAD are providing you with these opportunities, student success is not only the responsibility of the teachers. Students must take the initiative to complete assignments and to study for tests. Parents must ensure that students take initiative, do their work and study.
See the below study and test taking guide for some useful advice on how to pursue independent success on the New York State Regents Exams as well as class examinations implemented by your teachers. I strongly urge all of you to attend tutoring and alert your teachers to any problems you may have. The end is drawing near. Summer vacation is right around the corner. Failure should not be an option.
