Our WHSAD SkillsUSA chapter Is going to NATIONALS!!!!!!!

Our WHSAD chapter competed at the the annual New York State SkillsUSA championships this past week. We are proud to announce that Autumn Gonzalez won 1st place in the Prepared Speech competition and Nicholas Cruz won 2nd Place in the Action Skills (Job demonstration) competition. What have our Sophomores been up to in their CTE class?

As we enter the final week of the second marking period (of our second semester), our sophomores prepare to finish their last drawing of the year. The drawings completed for this marking period include Sections of a BRICK VENEER CONSTRUCTION AND SOLID BRICK CONSTRUCTION, WALL FRAMING WITH WOOD, and CORNER POST CONSTRUCTION. The lessons belonging to these are as follows: Aim: What are the advantages and disadvantages of a brick veneer and solid brick construction? Students Manufacture Heating Grilles for WHSAD at Architectural Grille

We are now in production mode! After we learned about the structure of the company Architectural Grille, its safety procedures and the operation of their CNC (computer numerical control) machines we were ready to produce. WHSAD Freshman Compete in National Bioenergy Competition

Freshman students Najee Neil, Xavier Abreu Negron, Victor Perry, Alfredo Sanchez and Nicholas Shannon are competing in a national competition through the Department of Energy. The task was to design an infographic about biofuel. The topic chosen by the students was cellulosic ethanol and how it can be used to potentially meet our energy needs. Aim:  Why do we create Multiple Business cards for ourselfs?   Multiple Cards Sometimes a single business card is not appropriate for all aspects of a business. People may have different business cards for different occasions.
