What are your strengths and what areas of yourself would you like to improve?

I think one of my strengths is being able to focus. I know a lot of people who get distracted easily, and it’s hard for them to focus and get their work done. As for me, I’m able to focus and get my work done on time, and I’m able to multitask.  Something that I would like to improve is being social. The reason why I would like to improve in being social is because I’m a very quiet person and due to that I might not make connections with other people that can help me later on.

What are you looking forward to in your senior year at WHSAD?

What I’m looking forward to in my senior year at WHSAD is being able to get the yearbook, sweater, T-Shirt, and the trips we will have. I’m also looking forward to making/creating new memories with my friends this year since they might go out of state, and I won’t see them. Lastly, I’m looking forward to our graduation. I will be so happy to see my fellow classmates and I graduate and be able to begin a new chapter in our lives.

What are your plans for after high school?

My plan for after high school is to enjoy my summer break and be able to find a stable job so I can save some money. Also, during the summer I would like to get out of the country and go to Mexico so that I can relax before going to college and focus on my major.

What activities have you been involved in during your time at WHSAD and how have these activities helped you grow?

Arely and Lawrence Pierre presenting a plaque they made using the Zing laser cutter.

During my years at WHSAD I was in activities that I didn’t sign up for. However, Mr. Codio told me that I was ready to create things and be able to present the work that I have done. Some of the activities that I have done are the Barcelona Pavilion and Newtown Creek Alliance Awards. When I was part of the project, I was a bit afraid since it was my first time doing this project. During the process I was able to learn a new machine like the Zing laser cutter. I have never used a Zing laser cutter and it was a nice experience.

What advice would you give to students in the lower grades?

The advice that I will give to the students in the lower grades is to join as many internships as you can. The reason is they are able to learn new softwares and new machines. What I mean by new machines is the Zing laser cutter and the 3D printer machine. I have never used the laser cutter until I joined an internship which led me to learn the machine. With that I was able to create awards for amazing people. With all these internships I was able to learn many things and they can help me later on.
