What have been some of your most memorable moments over the last four years at WHSAD?

Some of my most memorable moments have been staying after school hours. When classes aren’t going on, there is still so much life and fun in school. I’ve made so many new friends by joining after school programs and staying late to finish assignments. Doing this has also gotten me closer to my teachers. Taking walks throughout the hallways and popping into different classes to say hi to my old teachers is one of my favorite things to do and the main things I’ll miss at WHSAD.

What are your plans for life after high school? Why do you feel this is the best option for your at this time?

Life after high school I plan to attend Pace University to study biology. Science has always been my favorite subject and with biology being such a broad category I want to explore my options. My main goal will be to help people, and through biology I can do exactly that. During college I plan to join school clubs and get an on campus job. I want to be heavily involved during college to make my experience the best it can possibly be.

What are some words of advice you would give to younger students?

If there is a free trip, take it. If there is an after school club you’re interested in, join it. I truly didn’t believe anyone when they said that high school goes by fast, but they were all right. You never believe it until you’re living it. I have made some amazing friends and had so much fun, but the worst part is that most of it happened my senior year. Be nice to your teachers and show them respect. School will be so much easier if you do. Lastly, try to stay on top of your work. As a person who procrastinates, a lot of my stress came from schoolwork that I let pile up. But mainly, have fun and make as many memories as you can.

Where do you want to see yourself five, ten, and thirty years from now?

In five years, I see myself graduated from Pace, working a job that’s related to my career and major choice. In ten years from now, I see myself with a steady career and hopefully with someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. I see myself still living in New York in my own place still close to my family but also traveling the world. In thirty years from now I see myself with a few children, living a happy life. I see myself being fulfilled with what I have and still being close to my family and friends.

Who has been one person you’d like to thank for support, encouragement, love, etc.?

One person I’d like to thank is my oldest brother, Vicente. He attended WHSAD before me and loves to say that he’s been “keeping an eye on me”. He has shown me the importance of being outgoing, of making new friends and taking opportunities before they’re gone. Although he is nine years older than me, we relate in so many ways and I often even feel like the older sibling. He’s always said that he’s here for me whenever I need him, and I can go to him for anything. He pushes me to do more and try my best knowing that it’ll be good for me. He’s still a child at heart and although he is the most stubborn person I know, I also know that he’ll always have my back and just wants the best for me. So thank you to him. Hopefully, he’ll never see this or else he’ll never stop bringing it up.
