New York City Wins 29 Medals in Statewide SkillsUSA Competition, WHSAD Awarded First and Third Place

Ramon Williams was chosen to to speak before the Board of Regents on May 19th, 2015 as the sole representative of the New York City Chapter of SkillsUSA.

 

New York City public high schools placed high in the statewide SkillsUSA Competition at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Over 2,000 students competed in 82 categories like 3D Visualization, Construction Skills, IT Technologies and Health Care. Eleven New York City schools sent their biggest contingent yet, winning 29 medals in a broad set of contests. Many winners will go on to the SkillsUSA National Finals in June in Kansas City.

Congratulations to WHSAD seniors Ramon Williams, who was awarded first place in Architectural Drafting and Lorena Arias, who was awarded third place for Job Interview. In addition, Ramon Williams was chosen to to speak before the Board of Regents on May 19th, 2015 as the sole representative of the New York City Chapter of SkillsUSA.
