Bridging the Gap/STEP FREE Program is offering an “Intro to College/ College Readiness Workshop in Fall 2017 to high school seniors (12th grade).
This FREE workshop will help high school seniors to prepare and apply for, and succeed in, college. The class will provide college and financial aid counseling, essay writing workshops – everything high school seniors need to get into and pay for college.
· Important steps to take in 12th grades
o College visits and investigation
o Interest assessments
o Essay writing
o Understanding what colleges are looking for in perspective students
o Resources for investigating colleges and programs
· The college application process
o Types of colleges (public, private, selective, community colleges)
o CUNY & SUNY options
· How to apply – the Common App, SUNY & CUNY applications
