What have been some of your most memorable moments over the last four years at WHSAD?
In general my most memorable moments at WHSAD have been staying late working on projects and messing around with my friends. Some days we’re actually doing real work, some days not so much. No matter what though, we’re having fun.
What are your plans for life after high school? Why do you feel this is the best option for your at this time?
I plan on going to college for architecture. Specifically, I plan on getting a BS in architecture and then an M.Arch. I think this is the best decision for me because architecture combines logical and creative thinking. Once I get my master’s degree and collect enough work hours, I’ll start working towards completing all of the exams for licensure. Eventually I want to start my own small firm.
What are some words of advice you would give to younger students?
Get involved with the school and the opportunities will come to you. Make sure you get to know your teachers. Lastly, learn to say no but don’t do it too often.
Where do you want to see yourself five, ten, and thirty years from now?
Hopefully, I will own a small architecture firm. I want something tight-knit with people who mesh well together. There’s just something about having a group that you can fluidly work with and feel like you’re not just doing it for the paycheck.
Who has been one person you’d like to thank for support, encouragement, love, etc.?
I’d like to thank my mom for the love and support she’s given me throughout my high school years. She helped me immensely during the college application process and I will be forever thankful for it. I wouldn’t have been able to get to where I am now without her. She’s always been there to back me up and taught me to advocate for myself. She’s made me who I am today.
