What have been some of your most memorable moments over the last four years at WHSAD?
I still remember my first day of freshman year, not knowing where my first-period class was and having to ask a few people, “Where’s the freshman algebra room?” When I saw Ms. Tan, I didn’t know what to expect. I kept wondering if she would be strict or kind, and honestly, I felt that way about all my teachers that year. Making new friends turned out to be easier than I thought. Looking back, I’m still close with most of them, and the rest have simply become part of the past. I don’t regret my journey at WHSAD at all. If anything, I wish I could experience it all over again. I never expected four years to go by so quickly it feels like it was just yesterday.
What are your plans for life after high school? Why do you feel this is the best option for your at this time?
I plan to work hard and stay focused so I can make my parents proud and keep my promise of giving them a better life one they’ve always deserved. I want to give them the opportunities they never had and be able to travel the world with them. They gave me everything, and now it’s my turn to give back and show them the same love and support they’ve always given me. Alongside with my sister and brother.
What are some words of advice you would give to younger students?
Don’t rush through these years. I know it feels like you just want to grow up and get out, but one day you’ll look back and realize how fast it all went. The little moments you don’t think matter right now, laughing in class, walking the halls, sitting with your friends at lunch, those are the ones you’ll miss the most. And remember friends come and go…and that’s one of the hardest things to accept. Some people who feel like your whole world right now might slowly drift away, and it doesn’t always mean something went wrong. People grow, change, and take different paths. The important thing is what each friendship teaches you about trust, about loyalty, and about who you are. Take it from experience 😊
Where do you want to see yourself five, ten, and thirty years from now?
Thirty years from now, I imagine myself standing on the farm I’ve dreamed about since I was 10, finally living the life I always wanted. I see myself surrounded by bunnies, cows, horses, goats, chickens, and ducks. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, raising our two kids in the home I designed and built with the support of my career. I also picture myself owning my dream car and having the freedom to travel the world—visiting places like Switzerland, South Korea, France, Spain, and many more.
Who has been one person you’d like to thank for support, encouragement, love, etc.?
I’m deeply grateful to both my mom and my dad for always supporting the decisions I make and guiding me toward what’s best for me. My mom, who made me a sandwich every day so I wouldn’t go hungry instead of relying on the cafeteria, and my dad, who was always there with advice for anything I needed—wisdom that has helped me get this far today. There aren’t enough words to express how thankful I am, not only to them but also to everyone who has continued to support me along the way. Most of all, I thank God for always guiding me toward a better path—always, always, always.💗
