What have been some of your most memorable moments over the last four years at WHSAD?
One of my most memorable moments here at WHSAD was my first day of school. I had no idea where to go, and I was scared that I was going to look crazy standing in the hall trying to find my classes. Thankfully, Mr. Leverenz was nice and showed me how to get to my classes. Another one of my most memorable moments was the first awards ceremony I attended. I received an award for consistently being on the honor roll, and I also got to dance at the ceremony with my friends who joined the school dance club with me.
What are your plans for life after high school? Why do you feel this is the best option for your at this time?
My plans for life after high school is to attend college and pursue a bachelor’s degree in interior design. I would also like to attend business classes so that I can be successful when it is my time to run my own business one day. After college I would like to work at an interior design company so that I can gain some work experience. I would then like to transition into running my own interior design company. I wish to travel around the world and design homes for people.
What are some words of advice you would give to younger students?
Advice I would give to younger students is to never do anything that isn’t in your heart. By this I mean to never do anything for the approval or satisfaction of others. You don’t have to please others because a lot of the friendships you make in high school are only temporary. It’s also good to learn to enjoy your own company. You don’t need to be surrounded by people, especially if they don’t push you to be the best that you can be. The more time you put into yourself and your education, the faster school will go by and the more peaceful it will be.
Where do you want to see yourself five, ten, and thirty years from now?
In five years, I see my self fresh out of college and working at a small interior design company. I see myself happy and at peace with the world and myself. In ten years, I see myself moving in with my significant other and traveling the world and just exploring new things with someone by my side. In thirty years, I see myself being the face of my own company. I see myself and my employees traveling together first class, on our way to give someone their dream home makeover.
Who has been one person you’d like to thank for support, encouragement, love, etc.?
I would like to thank Ms. Erneste for the amazing support she has provided me over the past four years that I have been here. She has been nothing but kind to me and was always willing to find an answer to any question I may have had. Even on breaks, she was there to help me submit my college application when I needed her. She always has a positive attitude at work, and she just has such a warm and pure spirit that can make anyone smile. If anyone deserves the biggest shoutout, it would most definitely be Ms. Erneste.
