WHSAD’s First Five

WHSAD has its first five certified CTE graduates. Please congratulate Adams Peguero, Michael Martin, Ofelia Eumana, Marcus Gonzalez, and Robert Arroyo for passing the AutoCAD certified user exam. Nissan Trucks and Singing?

Hands on a Hard Body, what? As seductive as this title may sound, it’s not what you would expect it to be. This new broadway musical is inspired by a 1997 documentary that shares the same title. In the hot and dry town of Longview, Texas, 10 working-class Texans enter a contest that rewards them with a new red pickup truck that could change their lives. The rules for these musical competitors are plain and simple; they must stay standing with one hand on the car until one is remaining. This upbeat rhythm and blues musical introduced charismatic but strange characters. WHSAD on Ice

Students receiving a score of 85 and up on the regents or report card were rewarded with an incentive ice skating trip to Wollman Rink in Central Park. As sharp metal skates scraped against the cold hard ice. Giggles, screams, and the musical tunes of pop-culture illuminated the rink. During this bright but chilly day the students of WHSAD invaded the ice rink. The holding of hands was a method that students used to evade the utter embarrassment of tumbling on to the icy floor. “My butt hurts a lot but I had an incredibly large amount of fun...” claimed Donavon Bembridge; a bronzed honor roll freshman who crashed into the walls of the rink multiple times.
