Aim:

How does a person, business, or organization adequately describe themselves in a 3.5 x 2 inch space?

Lesson 1 has the student writing and designing their own business card. In Lesson 2 the student must create the business card for their Atchitectural company (assigned by the teacher).

Lesson 1: Create Your Own Business Card

You may wish to place one or more of these restrictions on student business cards. Do caution students about the use, exchange, and safekeeping of personal information.

  • First names only, or First name and Initial.
  • Use a fake address or use the school address.
  • Use a fake phone number or the school phone number.
  • Do not allow students to use a photograph of themselves on the card.

Lesson 2:  Create A Business Card for your Architectural company

Multiple Cards
Sometimes a single business card is not appropriate for all aspects of a business. People may have different business cards for different occasions.

Allow students to create two or more different business cards each highlighting a different aspect of their school or extracurricular life or multiple aspects of an historical or fictional character. Discuss how individuals can have a variety of different interests and can present a different “face” depending on their surroundings and activities.
