“For a school to succeed in its mission to provide students with the best possible education there must be a spirit of cooperation and professional partnership between administrators and educators. The UFT Partnership Award is presented to schools where such a successful partnership has been forged, thereby allowing all educators to bring their experience to bear crucial decision-making”.
WHSAD’s principal Gill Cornell and UFT Chapter Leader Jay Wiprovnick received the UFT School Partnership Award at the 2013 Teacher Union Day. They were recognized for their dedication to maintaining a rich and interdisciplinary collaborative effort between the faculty of various departments and cohort levels. Special recognition was given to our weekly cohort meetings, student inquiry, focus on lower performing students and use of data to drive overall achievement for all students. “Teacher input is sought in the belief that educators are the main engine propelling the school to greater academic achievement and improved development of students as imaginative critical thinkers capable of meeting any challenge.”
Congratulations WHSAD.
