Mahalia Saint-Eloi, Class of 2022

December 9, 2021 By Mahalia Saint Eloi

What are your strengths and what areas of yourself would you like to improve? My strengths would be that I'm consistent regarding my work, I'm diligent, and I'm always trying to be a part as many programs in the school and outside as much as possible. Something about myself I want to improve is to be more extroverted, step out of my comfort zone and become more sociable. I definitely want to change my standing now in terms of being social before college because I feel like if you don't socialize then you won't have the experience you want in college or in life in general. What are you looking forward to in your senior year at WHSAD? I'm looking forward to advancing my academic performance and all the events at the end of the school … [Read more...]

WHSAD’s High Rock Session 5

December 7, 2021 By Mahalia Saint Eloi

Last Wednesday, December 1st, we were in a meeting with High Rock in the lab once again. We mostly learned about what an RFP meant along with what we had to do in the slides about the presentation of the trail bridges. Apparently an RFP is a Request For Proposals which helps with design, formatting, and production services. Afterwards, for the slides we had to include statements of the team's strengths and unique abilities. I was in the same group as Mahalia Saint-Eloí and Waylon Gomori, so we wrote that one can do a lot of the documentation of the project, the other does more hands-on work, and the other can also help with analyzing the area of the park. In a second slide, we did a work timeline for the project and because we had just … [Read more...]

How are Architecture students and teachers adapting during the pandemic?

August 6, 2021 By Mahalia Saint Eloi

We can all agree that the Coronavirus pandemic was a major stop in all our lives, but WHSAD made sure its students didn't suffer the consequences of not being in school or having a lack of access to design platforms as architecture students. The teachers and students had to adapt to this new layout of the school year but didn't let the circumstances stop them from striving for success. Below are the interviews from some teachers and students. Teachers: Abraham Rodriguez and Ira Geringer-Freshmen Architecture How has the layout for your class changed as a result of the pandemic?
