WHSAD Students Featured in Dept. of Education LPP Newletter

As part of NYC Dept. of Education Chancellor Farinia's initiative to improve student achievement through the promotion of inter-school collaboration, WHSAD was chosen to be a host school for the Learning Partners Program (LPP). The staff and students of WHSAD will be hosting two other CTE schools in NYC in an effort to model and share best practices. As a result of this partnership, a group of WHSAD students decided to visit the LPP offices and offered to produce personalized desk plaques for the LPP team members using AutoCad and a laser engraver. BTG is Offering WHSAD’s Class of 2018 a Free SAT Prep Workshop in Spring 2017

Bridging the Gap (BTG) is offering an SAT prep course facilitated by Kaplan to 11th grade students.  BTG is a public funded program at NYC College of Technology (City Tech). WHSAD 9th Grader Jonah Vasquez Reports on Recent Field Trip

  On 11/29/16, Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. O'Brien accompanied a select group of WHSAD ninth graders to the historic World Diamond Tower. This NYC landmark is currently under renovation as part of an adaptive reuse project. If you would like to learn more about the World Diamond Tower, please click here. Trent Cobb – Class of 2011

Trent Cobb, WHSAD Class of 2011, currently attends New York City College of Technology where he is majoring in Electrical Engineering Technology.  Trent is also working as a Wireless Field Support Technician for Natural Wireless. “My favorite part about WHSAD was the afterschool programs that were offered (ex. video game club, theatre club, and track and field). WHSAD Students Experience New Art Installation at Park Avenue Armory

  On Thursday, December the 8th, the 90 selected seniors of Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design traveled the intricate subway systems of Brooklyn and Manhattan to experience and art installation at the Park Avenue Armory.  Manifesto was the culminating trip for the senior cohort that was led up to by four, in-class visitations of two of the Armory’s Resident Teaching Artists, Vicki Tanner and Neil Pritchard. Upon arriving to the Armory, the students were separated into five groups. Full Ride College Scholarship for Juniors

The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and required fees for four years of undergraduate study. The Coolidge Scholarship also provides an annual stipend for books and supplies. This one-of-a-kind scholarship may be used at any Accredited American University. Anyone of any background, pursuing an academic discipline of study, may apply to this non-partisan, need-blind, program. Students apply for the Coolidge Scholarship during their junior year of high school.
