Williamsburg is at the center of an amazing revolution! Old buildings that are relics of the manufacturing/industrial age are being transformed into state of the arts spaces. Today Ms. Moos and Mr. Felix took a select group of students on a tour of a project in which a century-old sawdust factory is being transformed into an acoustically sound concert hall, recording studio, nightclub and center for composers. This $16 million space on North 6th Street, dubbed the Original Music Workshop (OMW), would eventually be a hub for the community, musicians and top celebrities. WHSAD Students Go to Barclays Center to See the Knicks vs. the Nets
On Friday, February 6th, more than 20 WHSAD students were rewarded with a free field trip to see the New York Knicks versus the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. While the Brooklyn Nets enjoyed a comfortable lead during the first quarter, it turned out to be an exciting game, as the Knicks took the lead during the fourth quarter. The Nets eventually came back to beat their cross-town rival 92-88. This special trip would not have been possible if it were not for the help of Harry Van Arsdale alumni Mia Hall. A special thanks go out to her for her efforts in making sure that our students succeed academically. WHSAD periodically provides its students who succeed academically with incentive field trips. Progress Report Survival Guide
WHEN are/were they sent? Progress Reports are mailed home about two weeks before each marking period ends. This is to give you enough time to take action in order to bring up your grade. Progress Reports for this marking period were sent out on Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 and they should arrive at your home next week. WHO is involved?
